Successive Visits

Monthly Appointments

Orthodontic treatment usually requires that the patient come into the office once per month for follow-up visits. During this time, you will need to follow instructions and practice good oral hygiene. Also, continue to visit your dentist regularly at four to six month intervals or as prescribed by your primary care dentist. Once your braces are removed, custom-made, semi-permanent or fixed retainers are utilized to hold your teeth in their new positions until your bone, gums, and muscles adapt.
Dr. King believes in long-term retention as the many forces of facial growth, eruption of third molars and function may lead to instability of the new teeth positions. The retention period is an important part of your overall treatment and should not be neglected! Best of all this phase is included in your treatment fee!

Please note that these successive appointments should be made a month in advance and usually take approximately 10 minutes. At the time of this appointment, the monthly payment is expected. Should the patient be unable to keep their appointment it is expected that they call a day in advance, if possible, to cancel and/or reschedule the appointment. We book appointments one month in advance. Therefore, if you must reschedule your appointment, it may be a month or more to that rescheduled appointment. However, when the schedule permits, be assured that we will make all efforts to get the patient in for the next available appointment.
